TNR Cancelled for Tonight, Two Remain for 2016

It makes me sad to cancel an TNR with so few remaining. It is actually clearing a little right now, but the hourly forecast only gets worse. With the end of DST fast approaching, there are only two Tuesday Night Rides remaining this season; October 25th and November 1st.

Moose Cross Day 2, Cold and Windy

 

Some of our readers already know that we had a little drama returning from Moose Cross last night. Everyone is OK except the deer. About half of the Saturday crew (Kelton, Kellen, Dan, Shae, and I) went back for day two of Moose Cross today. It was cold and windy in Victor with additional rainfall overnight. The rain that was forecast for this morning failed to materialize. There were a couple of real mud bogs, but most of the course was fast and rideable. If there is such a thing as a perfect amount of mud for cyclocross, maybe today was that day. Kellen rode the Cat 4 race today and finished third in a fast field.

Moose Cross Day 1, Kelton Beats the Cat 1-2

 

The Upper Valley was represented by a dozen or so cyclists today at Moose Cross. I will post a link to Heather’s photos as soon as they are available. It rained fairly heavily this morning, so conditions were muddy, improving as the afternoon went on. Kelton was the star today winning the Men’s Cat 3 race by a wide margin after bridging up to the 1-2 riders in a staggered start. He crossed the finish line on the wheel of the Cat 1 winner for the fastest time of the day.
