White Owl Road Fat Bike

Jeff, Tony, and I set out today with the objective of finding a good quality fat bike ride within reasonable proximity to Rexburg with a shorter approach to the forest than the current winter access to Moody Creek and Lyons Creek. Our search took us to the White Owl Road. County road maintenance ends at a large potato cellar just east of the Moody Creek Canyon with a large area cleared for snowmobile parking.
Conditions were not ideal today (windy, snow a little soft) but they were really not bad. I have ridden the White Owl Road the opposite direction on a gravel bike but never in the winter. It is a fairly long gradual climb of about five miles to the high point of the White Owl Road (and a long easy cruise to return to the parking area) with the potential to extend the ride on groomed snowmobile trails.
