5 p.m. Start Time for TNR Tuesday July 4th

Happy Independence Day to everyone. We will be moving up the start time of the Tuesday Night Ride to 5 p.m. Several people have told me they are still planning on an evening ride on the 4th. Others are hoping to organize a ride earlier in the day. I will be working so I am planning on the 5 p.m. ride. If you prefer an earlier ride on the holiday and would like to help organize a group, the Rexburg Cycling Facebook page is a good place to start.
If you read this post either on the blog or on Facebook, you can help us by spreading the message to all TNR riders and interested parties.

The Punisher Ride - 116 Miles - 10,000 Ft Vertical - August 19

IT'S GONNA HURT - AUGUST 19
View this email in your browser

116 Miles. 10,000 Feet Up. One Killer Ride.

The Punisher Ride just might be Utah's most punishing race (see what we did there?) with more than 10,000 feet of climbing spread over 116 miles.

First 100 to sign up with coupon code "HurtMe" get 25% OFF. After that, no more discounts.

REGISTER NOW
Starting with a neutral roll out from Eden (the closest you'll get to paradise once the peddling begins) we head up Utah Highway 39 to the Monte Cristo pass before a long descent to Woodruff. A quick fuel stop and you turn around to reverse the course. Instead of finishing in Eden, however, we send you up one of Utah's hardest climbs – Powder Mountain - where a surprise may be in store.
Supported aid stations will be provided along the course with one final water stop as you begin the final climb. Expect to find water, First Endurance EFS, Honey Stinger gels and waffles and other goodies to keep you hydrated and fueled along the way.
For those not into quite that much suffering, we've got a 74 mile course with only 8,000 feet of climbing.
The Punisher Ride will be USAC Sanctioned, a UCA points series event and have a timed Gran Fondo version for those who want to ride but don't want to 'race' against anyone but your buddies.
Free lunch with the beverage of your choice compliments of the Punisher crew awaits at the top.

Registration is just $75 and includes a race t-shirt, finisher medal, timing and results, serious swag, one incredible experience and two legs that may or may not forgive you before the weekend is over.

The Punisher Ride is taking the place of the Tour of Park City on the 2017 calendar after road construction projects made the course unavailable this summer.

From Joe Hill: Ride the Angry Horse - Gravel Ride/Race

I'm forwarding to you a poster along with some ride/race information for a gravel event that will be happening here locally in SouthEast Idaho this fall.  This event is being organized and promoted by Brooke Jeffs, who is a cyclist from Idaho Falls. She is fairly new to the gravel scene, as she has only acquired a Scott Addict within the last year, but she is very enthusiastic about riding gravel and is anxious to help grow the scene.

The date is September 9th, which unfortunately for me falls on the same day as a NICA race so I will not be able to attend, but as a local bike shop owner I am very excited to see an event of this nature be promoted and organized in the area. I've copy/pasted the brief event details from their facebook page for you to add to the blog.  Hopefully as we draw nearer I can help provide additional information.

"Come crush some gravel and Ride the Angry Horse. This fully supported ride offers three different routes. The FILLY RUN is a rolling 10 miles of all gravel fun, the COLT Run is 45 miles and 4200 vertical feet of climbing. Finally the STUD RUN is 120 miles of EPIC suffering, rolling all the way down and around Blackfoot Reservoir and on through the Grays Lake National Wildlife Refuge, before turning up Horse Creek. ALL of the proceeds will go to saving Wild Mustangs. Come out and ride the untamed."

TNR cancelled for tonight.

I hate to do this but I don't feel like we have a lot of choice. If this storm blows over we may go out for a little spin at 7. If you're interested send me a text. Otherwise I will see everyone next week.

Ultimate Challenge - August 5- Registration Discount Code

Exclusive Extra Mile Racing Discount

Though not an Extra Mile Racing event, the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah's Ultimate Challenge is a great event and we give it our thumbs up. We've also arranged for an exclusive discount for our customers.

This is a fantastic way to watch the Tour of Utah Stage 6 on August 5 - you can ride the course before the pros, then hang out and watch the finish at Snowbird. This year is the shortest Queen Stage yet, so if you've been on the fence about riding this because it was too difficult, this is the year to do it - 64 miles and 7600 ft of climbing. There will be fully stocked rest stops along the way and food at the finish. The Little Cottonwood Canyon climb is timed - and we will have podiums for the fastest men and women.
Use the coupon code "XTRA17TOFU" at checkout for $10 off. Hurry, this discount ends on June 17
