From Cameron: Opportunity to Join 2018 Lotoja Relay

Cycling season is upon us and with that I often I ask myself "Am I doing LOTOJA this year?" Well this year I"M IN! and have volunteered to help plan the efforts for some relay teams. I've personally finished several full LOTOJAs and several relay teams (2 man and 5 man teams) and to be honest I've had a blast doing all of them. So my question to you is "Are you doing LOTOJA?"

Why I Do LOTOJA?

·  Support an epic local race

·  Keeps me training all summer long

·  Provides an end of summer goal for fitness

If you are interested in joining a relay team (2-5 man teams) this year for LOTOJA please respond to Cameron Patch before March 31st He'll be helping plan the registration, logistics, and training. LOTOJA registration begins in 2 weeks so kiss your loved ones goodbye for the summer and come get on your bike!

Once I get a list of names of interest I'll figure out teams, interest in a team jersey, etc. I look forward from hearing from you.

AN EPIC CYCLING SEASON IS UPON US!

From Joe: New Sled Shed Cycling Kit is Now Available for Pre-Order

The time has come for us to announce the availability of the new Sled Shed Cycling Kits. As you know these kits are part of our marketing strategy to rebrand the store as "SLED SHED - Bikes, Boards, Bouldering" and eventually drop the Sticks and Stones name. These kits are available at wholesale cost, we won't make a dime on any of them, unfortunately we're just not able to subsidize them by 50% like TCI. But these are the same quality of kits, using the same chamois and the cycling jacket is the same bonded fleece as the most recent TCI Jackets. As is per usual on DNA Cycling kits, lead time on these is expected to be 8-10 weeks, and we will be closing the option to order at the end of March. I have fit kits here at the store. Here is the link to order.

Springtime in Idaho, Saturday Ride, TNR

On my ride today, I saw large flocks of migratory waterfowl (mostly snow geese I think) both in flight and scavenging in the fields. You can see a very large group in this photo if you zoom into the upper portion. White geese don’t photograph that well against white snow. I should have taken a video because they were creating a real ruckus.
Over the past couple of months, I have ridden the Surly Straggler quite a bit for commuting and low key road rides. Several people have asked how I like it. Compared to race bikes, road or cyclocross, it feels a little clunky. Outside of that context, it feels pretty great. It is a fun, comfortable, and versatile bicycle.
Assuming the weather holds as forecast, we are planning on a road ride at noon Saturday meeting at Sled Shed. Plus, Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday. The Tuesday Night Ride will begin on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at Sled Shed,
