Keeping Up With Rebecca Rusch

Riding into summer and making it count.

Hello there friends and happy SUMMER!

I set some important goals this year. They are simple, but essential for my health and wellness, so I wanted to share.

1.  Ride more: yep, Arizona Trail Race, Dirty Kanza XL, Utah bikepacking expedition...and more on the calendar.

2.  Spend more time in Idaho: check.  Launched Rusch Academy endurance training camps, exploring my own back yard and expanding the distance offerings for Rebecca's Private Idaho.  Wanna #JoinTheRusch and come ride with me?

3.  Protect what's important to me: On it!  I'm focusing my rides on Public Lands awareness and protection and working to officially launch my Be Good Foundation that will target my efforts to use my bike as a vehicle for change. #BeGood

So, scroll down for some great stories, photos and tips that may inspire you to take on a multi-day adventure ride or race and hopefully check off some of the things important to you this year.

Be Good,
Exploring & Protecting Public Lands

Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments are adventure wonderland. They're also shrinking. Check out my full trip report as I loaded up my Niner Air 9 RDO for a 6 day bike packing, rock climbing, pack rafting tip there to explore the sacred lands of the Hopi and Navajo and showcase the importance of their protection.
View a deeper dive on my blog and a photo essay on Instagram starting Friday.
Tears of Accomplishment, Gratitude and Relief.

This is exactly what it feels like to finish the Dirty Kanza XL after 28.5 hours alone on the bike, being welcomed into the finish chute in Emporia, Kansas by friends and fans…there is no better feeling.
"What could possibly go wrong?"

I recently sat down with Gear Patrol to reveal how having a well-prepared CamelBak is tantamount to successful days in the backcountry. Read the article here.
Wild Ideas Worth Living

I recently sat down with the Wild Ideas Worth Living podcast to chat about taking risks and carving your own trail. Listen to the full interview here.
Make your next adventure the best it can be by registering for one of my Rusch Academy camps before taking what you've learned and applying it at Rebecca's Private Idaho in late August.
How To Make a GU Recovery Smoothie

It's important to take your recovery seriously if you want to boost your performance. Here Reba quickly prepares her favorite sweet and savory post-workout GU Energy recovery smoothie to help restore reserves after completing your ride.
