We’re fresh off the best-attended Gravel Pursuit yet! It was a great event and I want to thank everyone who came out for it. Thanks also to all my race sponsors, most of all Salsa for providing support and making it extra fun with Chase the Chaise. Look through the photo galleries here.
Did you enjoy the Gravel Pursuit? Are you looking for a way to experience the same beautiful, remote terrain in completely different conditions? Check out this winter’s Fat Pursuit events. There’s a flavor for every fat bike rider, from novices to experienced racers training for the Iditarod Trail Invitational. You will be challenged, humbled, and rewarded in many different ways.
December 15: Fat Pursuit 60K I consider the Fat Pursuit 60K to be a day race, but whether that day is three hours or ten all depends on conditions and your preparedness. It’s never easy but it’s also not as much of a commitment as the other two distances. It could also be a great test to see if you want to go bigger in January.
January 4-6: Fat Pursuit 200K I don’t require any qualification for this race. It’s an opportunity for fat bikers to hone their skills in the amazing backcountry of Idaho and Montana. Check out the mandatory gear list and race details here.
January 4-6: Fat Pursuit 200 Mile This is the real deal. Not to be approached lightly. I do require racers to have finished other winter ultras or have attended a previous Fat Pursuit Camp before attempting this one, because you could be out there for multiple days. Check out the mandatory gear list and race details here. January 11-15: Fat Pursuit Winter Fat Bike Camp All abilities are welcome to this five-day immersive winter experience. I pride myself and my coaches on having something to offer any participant, whether you’re a first time winter rider or someone looking to win the Iditarod. Participants will learn theory and practice on winter packing, riding, maintenance, layering, camping, and nutrition.
