Kelton Holds His Own with America's Top Juniors

Thanks to Brian for real time updates during the race this morning. Kelton started near the back of the field, in the 80th position due primarily to the difficulty of accumulating USA Cycling points in an area with few sanctioned races.

From the minute the gun went off, he rode like a kid on a stolen bicycle. By the midpoint of the race he had managed to ride himself into the top half of the field.

At that point Kelton had the misfortune of a flat tire which he had to ride for three minutes or so to get into the pits for a bike change. It was a bit of bad luck that resulted in a loss of time and places rather than continuing his upward trajectory through the field.

In spite of that, Kelton feels good about the race and the fact that he was able to ride so well in a very competitive field. Kelton, we are proud of you.
