Ironman Tahoe

The challenging course at Lake Tahoe Ironman was matched by the spectacular venue. Crystal clear water and jagged mountains were the backdrop for both the full Ironman and Ironman 70.3 this year. Plagued by bad weather and bad luck in previous years, everyone was relived to have a beautiful day to race. The water was 62° and the high temperature for the day was 83°, although it felt much warmer at the high elevation (6,224').

Improving on his swim time and putting in solid performances on both the challenging bike loop and the long hot run course, Tony was happy to post an impressive finishing time just under the 6hr. mark. Tony was joined by fellow competitors and friends Kristy Cisco (70.3) and Mike Whitesides (Full Ironman). Mike continues to amaze as he a flew through the course at a blistering pace and finished 8th in his age group. Unfortunately, just announced today, this was the last year that Tahoe will host the Ironman, making Sunday's race especially memorable.
