This is the grainiest picture that we have ever published on the blog, but it is the only photo that we have from last night. The Kickoff did not draw a big crowd, but the level of competition was pretty high. Shae finished second among the women. Kellen made it on to the men’s podium.
Every cross race that Victor Velo has ever put on has been fun and well organized and the Kickoff was no exception. It was mostly run under the lights of the baseball fields, but there were some dark sections (but less dark than last year’s Spooky Cross). Based on our experience there, Dan, Shae, Kellen, and I all raced with a headlight which greatly facilitated riding the darker portions.
The faces in this photo will mostly be familiar to regular readers. You may not know Cody Dunn, Weston’s brother, who joined us for the Kickoff last night.
